Cash Register Paper
Most older cash registers use 44mm Bond Paper for the Receipt paper and some type of inker be it a roller or ribbon. Most newer cash registers use thermal paper and do not require an ink roller or ribbon. There are many places like http://www.cashregisterguys.com/ and http://www.posandcashregisters.com/ that sell cash register supplies regardless of your cash register being new or old.

Can a Cash Register interface to a credit card payment
We get this question all the time “Can my cash register interface to my credit card terminal?” The answer is both yes if you have a good cash register from SAM4s or Sharp then chances are you can add a Datacap device to it and turn your cash register into a credit card terminal.
Adding a Datacap to the SAM4s or Sharp Cash Register it makes credit card transaction much more secure, faster, and with fewer errors. The Datacap also will allow your cash register to accept your own private labels Gift Card program which is Money in the Bank!
At this time only one product that allow cash registers to become credit card terminals and that is the Datacap devices. If someone tells you your cash register can interface to a standalone credit card terminal they may not know what they are talking about!
